Décédé du choléra et son corps jeté dans le fleuve

Les registres de l'Anglican Cathedral Holy Trinity Church de Québec pour le 16 août 1832 font état de l'ace de sépulture suivant :

«Bulman Buried

Robert John Bulman, of Cobourg in the Township of Hamilton District of Newcastle in the Province of Upper Canada, (formally of Northumberland in England), died of the cholera Mortus in the Chambly Steamboat the River St. Lawrence on the sixteenth of August, in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and thirty two, & was buried (being cast into the River) the same day.

Present In the presence of ? Capt & part of the crew & ? of the Boat».

Noter la célérité avec laquelle on a disposé du corps en raison du caractère contagieux de la maladie. Pouvoir voyager dans un navire à vapeur entre Montréal et Québec représente un progrès certain.
