«Paterson Buried

Daniel Paterson, of the city of Quebec, Merchant, aged twenty three years, died at Hare Island, in the River St Lawrence (after being wrecked on board the Brig Favorite, bound for Madeira) November the twenty fifth, and was buried December the Second in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and seventeen.
By me George Jehosaphat Mountain Officiating Minister at Quebec
Present ? Irvine J Howell P Sutherland
».
